The Atlanta Zoo! Monday, October 19, 2009

Lucius and Nicole's Second Grade Class invited our class to go to the Atlanta Zoo. We had so much fun. We saw lots of mammals, and we learned about their habitats and diet. We were able to go to the Nutrition Center where the food is prepared. We saw lots of fresh produce and many frozen animals. The frozen animals were mice, rats, and rabbits. The animals are bred for the purpose of feeding animals in captivity. They are killed in a painless, humane manner. After visiting the Nutrition Center we toured the African Exhibit of the zoo. We had lunch, saw the pandas, and played on the playground. Monday was one of the best days ever in second grade. Thanks to Lucius and Nicole's class for inviting us and thanks to our chaperons. Please share your comments on the blog about our trip to the zoo.

  2. The trip to the zoo was a lot of fun. I learned a great deal about how the animals are cared for and taken care of at the zoo. I didn't realize that there are two animal hospitals at the zoo.

  5. I liked the Atlanta zoo because I learned about
animals. Another thing I learned at the Atlanta zoo is that a tiger will eat another tiger if it is really hungry.
