We love our Second Grade Class!!!

Blogging Rules

1. Do not include your entire last name or any personal information. Please use your last initial. Parents, a great way to identify yourself is by using your child’s name; for example: “Jacob’s mom.” Never give out your address or phone number in your posts or comments.

2. Check your post for spelling errors, grammar errors, etc. Once you submit your comment or post, it cannot be changed.

3. Use appropriate language. Remember that everything you put on the web can be seen by lots of people. Be sure that you are proud of everything you write. Do not write anything that could hurt someone’s feelings or embarrass you later.

4. Show you're thinking, and encourage others to refine their thinking. Instead of writing, “Your post was so cool, dude,” try to express yourself more clearly. If you think a post was cool, try to tell why it was so amazing. Don’t be afraid to ask questions!

5. Remember that all comments have to be approved before they are posted to the blog. If your comment or post does not appear right away, please do not send it again. Tammy will review all comments and posts before posting them, so remember to make wise choices. Let’s be amazing digital citizens.

Welcome to Second Grade 2010-2011!

We are delighted to be back in school and would love to read about your summer adventures. Please write a few sentences about your summer. Please remember to follow the blogging rules!

Favorite Song

Please share with us your favorite second grade song. Please be sure to include the name of the artist. See you tomorrow for our End of the Year Party!

A Fairy Tale

Once upon a time long ago there lived a beautiful queen, Queen Iliana, handsome king- King Aldric and Prince Jayden. They lived in the land of Camelot. The beautiful Queen Iliana was kidnapped by four ferocious dragons- Grace K., Ryan F., Christopher J, and Fred B. The dragons wanted Queen Iliana’s crown, jewels, and her son. Why her son you ask? They wanted Prince Jayden because he was handsome, a great fighter, wise, and if they sold him he would be worth lots of money.

After the dragons kidnapped the Queen from her garden they drug her off to a cave and tied her to a rock. When the handsome King Aldric awoke; he found a note on Queen Iliana’s pillow that read ‘The Queen has been kidnapped. We will return her in exchange for her crown, jewels, and handsome son Prince Jayden; Signed the Dragons, Grace K., Fred B., Ryan F., and Christopher J.” King Aldric was heartbroken. He sat in his room by the window and cried his eyes out. He was making such a ruckus that he did not hear the three fairies come into his chambers. The three fairies, Sarah E., Grace M., and Annie E. entered the room very quietly and gave three gentle taps on the King’s shoulder. Once they got his attention they asked him what was the matter. The King showed the fairies the letter from the dragons. The fairies told the King not to worry they would return his beautiful Queen Iliana and that he would not have to give up anything in exchange! Meanwhile Queen Iliana was still tied to a stone with a bandanna covering her mouth!

The fairies flew all over Camelot in search for the Queen. They were able to track her down by the smell of her sweet perfume. Once they reached the cave they tried with all their might to remove the large boulder from in front of the cave. They are unable to remove the boulder; but they were small enough to squeeze through. Once inside the cave they saw Queen Iliana. They told her not to worry that help was on the way. The fairies left the cave and called their Fairy Godmothers Ariel G. and Ava D. They told the Godmothers that the Queen has been kidnapped and that the King was very sad and really needed their help.

The Fairy Godmothers said a magical spell to remove the boulder from in front of the cave. King Aldric and Prince Jayden captured the dragons. The fairies freed Queen Iliana from the stone. The Fairies and Fairy Godmother combined their powers and cast a spell on the dragons and turned them into guard dragons. The royal family, fairies, and Godmothers all live in the Kingdom of Camelot happily ever after!
