We are learning about the Rain Forest in Social Studies as we study South America. There are 3 layers of the rain forest the understory, canopy and the emergent. If you could be any animal in the rain forest what animal would you be and why? Where in the rain forest does your animal live-which layer? Please describe your animal's habitat,diet and predators.

I would want to be a jaguar because the name comes from the Native Americans. It means "he who kills in one leap". Jaguars live in the understory and the canopy. They are carnivores. They are hunted by humans for their fur.

My animal is the Humming Bird. The place that I would live is the canopy.I'd be that bird because that bird is so beautiful! My birds diet is nectar.

I would like to be a panther. It lives on the forest floor. I would like to be this animal because it is silent and strong. It is called the ghost of the forest because it is rarely seen.It eats birds and monkeys.Its habitat is dark and cool.Its enemies are humans because of its fur. E.A.S

If I were in the rain forest, I would be a cheetah. I would live in the understory. I would be the fastest animal on the land. I can run 75 miles per hour. Madison N

ReplyDeleteIf I could be any animal in the rain forest I would the quetzal. I would be the quetzal because it a beautiful birds. they eat insects, fruits, worms, and frogs. The males have the beautiful feathers because the females need to blend in with the trees. The predators of the quetzal is kinkajou, the gray squirrel,the Ornate Hawk Eagle and owls.
